ACM CUI 2024 will be held in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg, from 8th–10th July 2024.
The central theme of this year's conference is "Trustworthy Conversational Agents". It focuses on the crucial role that conversational agents (CAs) play in building trust between humans and machines. As CAs become increasingly prevalent, especially with the developments around large language models together with the aftermath of COVID-19 misinformation, ensuring that they are trustworthy, reliable, and ethical in our daily lives is essential.
CUI 2024 aims to inspire and promote innovative research and development in the area of trustworthy conversational agents, facilitating the creation of conversational agents that are more human-like, intelligent, and trustworthy. The conference further looks to bring together researchers, practitioners and industry experts to share their knowledge, ideas and experiences in designing, developing, and evaluating trustworthy conversational agents.
Relevant topics
Topics relevant to the conference include, but are not limited to:
Natural language processing and understanding for CAs
Designing conversational agents with ethical and privacy considerations
Context-aware dialogue management for CAs
Multimodal interaction design and user experience for CAs
Personalization and user modelling for CAs
Conversational agent evaluation metrics and methodologies
Innovative use cases and applications of trustworthy CAs
Human-AI collaboration and co-creation for CAs
We welcome any contributions to conversational interfaces, looking at the more difficult issues of equity, trustworthiness, and harm. These topics are timely as it is clear that the issues of trustworthy conversational agents are not diminishing post-COVID and with the widely available large language models.
